One of the Civil Service departments were out on the streets protesting for a salary increase. This guy, one of the shop stewards, was keeping an eye on proceedings. I found myself in the middle of all this and starting taking a few photos. This shop steward approached me to tell me that I had no permission to take photos and I had to stop. It took some time to explain that seeing the protest was on public property they had no expectancy of privacy and I was well within my rights. We resolved the matter amicably and I walked away photos and all.
This is one of those scenes I saw from a long way off. I was walking down a narrow lane in the city. The lane was in deep shadow because of the high buildings on either side of it. In the middle of the lane the sun broke through in a break in the buildings and there she was.
